This month I have barely been to the allotment due to bad weather and illness – a couple of visits to tidy up after Storm Arwen and to move things around. The Christmas holidays should give some time for a winter tidy-up and dig over ready for 2022 and to replace the paths too.

Plots at Alexandra Meadows either look well ordered and preparations are in hand for another year or totally forgotten!

The onion sets and over-wintering brassicas are looking good and out little wildlife ponds are getting established.

All the geraniums are flourishing indoors and I have collected lots of seeds for next year.

We still have some more leeks and beetroot to harvest and the freezer is full with produce, so a good start was made this year!

At least this month there was no financial outlay. which was a first for us.I need to do some research about what to do with the wildflower area, which just looks a huge mess now so the festive break should be a busy one, weather permitting.
