Midway between Brockenhurst and Lyndhurst and close to campsites at Aldridge Hill and Black Knowl, Bolderfordbridge is a picturesque beauty spot where the Lymington River meets Ober Water and Highland Water. On the New Forest cycle routes and accessible with wide gravel paths, this confluence of waters under the sturdy Forestry Commission bridge is busy in summer and a popular bathing spot for children and dogs.

Meerut Road in Brockenhurst was named to remember the many WW1 Indian troops nursed in the Lady Hardings Hospital in the village. In 1915 King George visited the hospital and the second World War saw a larger nursing base for New Zealanders at what is now Tile Barn, Aukland Avenue and Place recalls them. From halfway along Meerut Road a straight path crosses Black Knowl heath – past the allotments and on to Queens Bower woodland.

The bridge over the river has paths to Lyndhurst, New Park, Puttles bridge along the river and routes into the campsites. There are many options to take and all with stunning views or woodland paths along the waterways.
