Another magical find from when the usual car parks were full after the lock down ended!
The car park here does not take many vehicles , but we have always found a space. There are several small paths from the car park – take the furthest right to go along the banks of the Lymington river – the path is rather confusing in places , but you will eventually come out near the road to Bealieu unless the irrestistable lure of the water keeps you wandering along the banks. Our border collie adores this place and we cannot keep her away from the river – this will lead you onto a larger path which comes out near some cottages and then onto the edge of Roundhill campsite.

The woodland here is spectacularly beautiful and varied – lots of ancient knarled old oaks, tall enchanting beeches, silver birch and hollies too. An excellent place for bluebells in late April, these woods have delights all year round. The tracks by the river get very muddy and you may need to jump over some bits, but there are plenty of higher paths if you want to avoid the bogs. After very heavy rain the whole area was under water, so if it is too wet cross over into Dennywood Inclosure….
